Went here based on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” episode when we were visiting Va Beach. Food was great and our server very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu items. It’s definitely a diner atmosphere but a fun one. Tables had the old-style paper placemats advertising local businesses. What a throwback. Try the rockfish reuben!.

“Great diner!”

Food was soooo good! Will definitely be returning. Our waitress was great. They should update their decor and they’re not on the beach at all as the name would imply but worth the drive for sure.

“Great find!”

Ate there while on business after it was recommended by a local. Peeked our interest after we were told it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and didn’t disappoint!!! Great friendly staff, was completely honest about ordering food choices and had us try the Oyster Rockefeller! YUM! Hadn’t tried oysters before and they were delic! The lb peel n eat shrimp was good and the clam and shrimp was heavenly!! Salad was “okay” but they aren’t known for salads! Lol. Definitely recommend!!!!!

“Great food! Friendly service!”

Huge shrimp by the pound with whatever you like. Ours were Old Bay and extra horseradish for cocktail sauce. Soft shell crab were tasty. Portions large so you may want to split! Going back next time in area for sure!

“Thursday is steamed shrimp!”

We ate lunch here. They had a lot to choose from, the food was good & you got a lot for your money. They were very reasonably priced. A very popular place for the locals. Good atmosphere.

“Good food & reasonable”

Recently I was invited to Virginia Beach and met my friends at beach pub for lunch. Not only did I have lunch but visited for breakfast each day and had the best steamed shrimp on Monday night! Not only did Mary take care of us, but we were thrilled with the food! Quite a variety and was what you want at the beach…yummy!!! The portions were out of this world, shrimp to oysters were scrumptious! Drinks were fabulous too! I’ll be back and go to the Sunday brunch also. You have not completed your trip to the beach unless you go!!

“Best seafood at Beach Pub!”

This is a old school dive/diner kind of place. Food and service was awesome. I had a patty melt for lunch and biscuits with creamed chipped beef for breakfast. My husband had the fried oysters and was very happy. My brother-in-law joined for breakfast. He had eggs and soft shell cab. Said it was the best breakfast he had EVER had.

“So good went back for breakfast”

I used to come here with my Great Uncle when I was younger. I recently brought my wife here and it was everything I remembered from years ago. The food, the service and experience were all wonderful. This will be a place I come to each time I am visiting VA Beach.

“Great food, not too expensive!!”

We read the reviews and saw the write up on Diners, drive ins and dives. We decided to give it a try. If we had decided to eat there based on the outside appearance, we would not have gone in. All I can say is, I am so glad we did. One of the best dinners we had all week was here. We will definitely go back next year.

“Great Choice”

While is Virginia Beach we went to two Diners, Drive-in & Dives. We dined at Beach Pub. Total atmosphere of being on a pier with friendly service. The food was very good. I had the flounder (boiled) with pickled beets and hush puppies. My girlfriend had fried shrimp with hush puppies and pickled beets. One friend had a stuffed flounder with lots of crabmeat, they didn’t skimp on the crab at all. All Seafood dinners served fried (unless otherwise indicated) with choice of two sides and hush puppies.

“Triple D #2”

Went here because of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. We asked our waitress what Guy ordered and she told us but said they are currently not serving that dish. So we tried the crab dip app, soft shell crab and jumbo seafood platter. We all loved our dishes, everything tasted fresh and had wonderful taste. It’s not a large place but there was plenty of seating. The server was such a doll, she always checked on us and answered all questions we had and gave her recommendations, was so friendly. I cannot wait to try more food from here.

“Food is Amazing & Service even Better”

We tried this restaurant the 1st year because it had been on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. We are now making this an annual dinner when we’re in Virginia Beach. It’s conveniently located close to the ocean front resort area, and the sea food is excellent! I won’t eat crab cakes out very often because of the fillers, but the crab cakes here were delicious!! The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. We haven’t had the left over room yet to even try dessert. Service is excellent – friendly and responsive. Great atmosphere, service and food! Highly recommend this restaurant!

“Excellent Seafood”

We had wings it was the special they were delicious! We also had an assortment of seafood that was all very good we will be back when we visit VA Bch again.

“Amazing food in an ordinary place”

This a no frills restaurant. Your not paying for fancy dining or expensive seafood. We had the Hatteras Clam chowder, shore fried clams, corn pudding and crab cakes. The corn pudding was a surprise dish. It was all very good. Service was excellent and the prices reasonable. I would rate it a C+

“Good food at good prices”

I have been eating here for 30 years and love the food and atmosphere. I almost always get the fish and chips or the soft shell crab sandwich. But you can’t go wrong with what ever you order. They have great lunch specials is a great place for a family meal.

“My favorite for 30 years”

While looking through one the coupon books, we spotted an advertisement for the Beach Pub and that it had been featured on DDD. It was within walking distance of our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. My wife had the crab cakes, which were delicious, and I had a cheeseburger, which was just OK. Service was good.

“Saturday Dinner”

Ww had soft shells and the fried shrimp and scallops delicious and alot to eat. Waitress was great, smiles and helpful

“Wonderful dinner”

We chose this restaurant because it had been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We were not disappointed. I had fish and chips and they were great. They had a light coat and were not greasy at all. My sister and I had She-Crab soup, mine seemed more soupy and her’s was thicker, but overall, it was good. Since we had many people in the group we were able to trade and share food. The fried Shrimp was very good, and my 10 year old niece loved the fried clams (this was her first time to eat them). There was no wait, but we were there the day after Christmas. Service was great, staff was friendly. My only regret is not getting a TSHIRT. I felt like the price was very good for the amount of food we received.

“Family Dinner”

Although the seating is a little tight, the food and service were quite good. They have a good selection of daily specials which are reasonably priced.

“Great food”

Just got back into town and was anxious to come back to The Beach Pub.
This visit I had the New Zealand Grass Fed Ribeye Steak with mushrooms, one of the specials with a baked potato ( real butter and sour cream). I have never had a grass fed piece of beef before and the was an unexpected opportunity, the taste is similar to a regular ribeye, yet had a uniqueness about it. Kind of hard to describe unless you have had both, there is a subtle detectable difference. They really cooked it just right-med rare more toward the rare side. With this I had a local drink: Pungo Red beer, offered on draft, it was pretty good, had a significant amount of bitters. My husband had the Fish and Chips, a good standby and a bowl of beef vegetable soup-hearty loaded with lots of tender beef and plenty of veges.
They also bring you a basket of assorted crackers with a generous supply of crackers with real butter and butter substitutes.
They offer some terrific and creative specials along with standard fare that has been a draw for many years, Locals love it here, prices are great, service is on top of everything.

“America Treasure within easy reach”

Years after Guy Fieri’s DDD visit, Beach Pub seems to be able to stay true to being selected. We visited Presidents weekend, and it was pretty busy. Not sure if it was filled with tourists or locals but business was brisk. Though not near the beach, though not too far, its not fancy, won’t get awards for decor, but.. the food is great. Wait staff was really friendly and attentive, and interested that you are enjoying your meal. We were served fresh and decent sized salads. All portions were a good size. The fried seafood combination was excellent. The crab cake had plenty of crab, perfect it you like it on the more spicy side. Would definitely go back when we are in area.

“Still true to DDD visit”

although I am a native, I only found this place about 25 years ago when I worked around the corner at birdneck and laskin. started ordering the lunch specials, which are a great value. now I don’t work at that location but still love to go for dinner, and still think they have the best seafood dinners, and specials at the beach for the best bang for the buck. love the fried shrimp dinner.

“NOT FANCY BUT GREAT SEAFOOD”

Friendly casual spot for a great seafood lunch! Crabcakes were delicious, in fact everything on the plate was tasty! Quick and helpful service. Prices good, we left full!

“A great stop for a quick lunch!”
